About the Institute for Cultural Diversity website

Cultural Diversity plays a central role in defining modern Australia. As members of a society built by immigrants from over 200 national and ethnic origins, and by Indigenous Australians, we have a strong interest in ensuring Australia is an inclusive society.

The Institute for Cultural Diversity was established to help this process along, by opening up conversations about the many dimensions of our lives in which cultural diversity plays a part. Whether we are working to advance human rights for all Australians, ensuring the arts and public culture reflect our diversity, or working to ensure our justice system treats us equally before the law, we recognise that people will bring different values and experiences to these situations. These differences contribute to a productive, innovative and democratic society.
